March

Books for April:
Left to Tell by Immaculee Ilibagiza
A Guide to the Birds of East Africa--A Novel by Nicholas Drayson

We had a great time last night, got familiar with the Voice of Death in The Book Thief, and discussed lots of other good books. It was great to have Liz' daughter Amy join us!

For next month Cindy recommended two books that are centered in Africa. One is about Rwanda and is hard to read but ultimately uplifting (Left to Tell). The other is more lighthearted (A Guide to the Birds of East Africa--A Novel) Kristine suggested we read both if we have time, or choose the one that most appeals to us. I'll try to put the links to Amazon review pages on the sidebar of the blog.

We also decided to start a blog so that we have the yearly schedule easily accessible and can see the names and reviews of books we discussed. We also plan to ask people to put links on the blog for things they've discussed at book club, such as good movies (Who Does She Think She Is?), online games (Word Twister!), and helpful websites (Good Reads).

So please do that, people who mentioned those things! Probably the best place to do it would be by adding a comment, although all of you are listed as blog writers and can add posts if you have lengthier things to say.

I hope I got the settings right for access and contributions. I said "no" to having the blog identifiable by search engines, so we don't have people stumbling upon it. But anyone who has the address can access the website, so feel free to share it with friends who you think might light to join or just lurk. They can send me their email addresses to be added permanently. If there are any glitches, let me know and I'll try to fix them. Enjoy!
